My Experience of Visiting Murud Janjira Fort
MurudIt's a small town in the Alibaug region that has a great offer for its tourists, isn't it? One fine day together with my wife and friends we decided to visit theforte de janjira. Our plan was to docamping on the beachand head to the fort early in the morning. We arrived at Alibaug in the late afternoon from Mumbai and headed to thenagaon beachin Alibaug district. Everything went according to plan and we arrived at Nagaon beach around 8pm. We had dinner and went looking for a small space to set up the tent. After searching for a good 20 minutes we found a small space on the beach in one corner where we pitched our tent. I was a little worried that if the high tide came in and the water level reached our tent spot, luck was in our favor and we got a little space to camp.

The next day, we refreshed ourselves on the beach and started to move by bicycle towards Murud Janjira Fort. Janjira fort is 45 km from Nagaon beach and the road goes throughPlaya Kashidwhich is the only white sand beach in the Alibaug region. As we start to approach Kashid beach the roads are a bit winding and you have to be careful when driving on this road. The coastal road offers a fascinating view of the Arabian Sea. After this beautiful journey, we finally arrive atMurud village. We parked our bikes in the parking lot.Ilha Rajapuriand please go to the counter to buy the tickets for the ferry ride, as i correctly mentioned, Murud Janjira is one of those forts that can only be reached by ferry service. Due to the weekend, there was a long queue at the counter and we had no choice but to queue and wait our turn.
The ferry ticket costs INR 25 per person.
After getting the tickets in hand, we went to the ferry's departure point and guess what? Another long queue was waiting to receive us. This was my first time atFuerte de Murud Janjiraand believe me, I had no idea that I would suffer so much to see the fort. After waiting 25 minutes, we took a ferry fromIlha Rajapuri and Fuerte Janjira. This ferry service was also a kind of fort book for me, yes the fellows who operate the ferry will guide you on the top things not to miss about the fort and its importance as they are the residents of the Murud area. When they started giving information about the fort, I was literally so curious to know about the fort that it remained unconquered. When our bus stopped at the main gate of the fort, another headache awaited us and that is nothing more than waiting to get off the bus. Yes, you heard right, there were already a few buses waiting to drop people off at the front door. The fort's main gate is narrow and therefore cannot accommodate a large group at the same time. After waiting another good 30 minutes we were given the chance to get off the ferry and into the fort.
